17th Annual
Oktoberfest at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church

Auctioneer Don Cotton will host a live auction, Saturday from 7 pm to 9 pm, featuring handmade crafts, quilts, wall hangings and lap robes from Good Shepherd's Lady Crafters. It's a great opportunity to bid on unique, handmade gifts prior to the holiday season.

The festival will include German-style food and drink, crafter's exhibits, live and silent auctions, garage sale, bake sale, children's carnival and live entertainment.

The German menu consists of a bratwurst platter, seasoned baked chicken, homemade sauerkraut and German potato salad. Also, the Greenery Cafe and Weinstube in Gulf Breeze will provide their tempting cheesecakes for those with a sweet tooth. All of this will be served Friday and Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. Brat sandwiches with sauerkraut, hot dogs and chips will be available on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The entertainment for the two-day event will feature the "Lifeline Band" performing their jazz and gospel sounds, the "Inside Straight" Barbershop Quartet, popular songs and performances by JB and Friends, the Fab Five, Ray "Big Dog" Coley, Michael "Black Elvis" Burnett, and local DJ Fabulous Fred.

Saturday morning activities begin at 6 a.m. with a garage sale, followed by a bake sale, Good Shepherd Lutheran School Children's Sing, a Tae kwon do exhibition, children's carnival and silent auction. Participants can tour the church campus to see the latest-model cars from Saturn of Pensacola, and designer RVs from Emerald Coast RV. Food and drink will be served throughout the day.

The public is encouraged to bring the whole family and come hungry! Good Shepherd's Oktoberfest will be featured on the "Beaches to Woodlands" tour sponsored by the Santa Rosa Tourist Development Council.
